Monitor your child for diarrhea. If it’s severe or persistent, contact your doctor immediately. Dehydration is a serious concern.
Watch for signs of allergic reaction: hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical attention if these occur.
Unusual bleeding or bruising warrants a call to your physician. Amoxicillin can sometimes affect blood clotting.
Changes in behavior, such as unusual irritability or confusion, require medical evaluation. These may be rare side effects.
Skin rashes are another possible side effect. Mild rashes may clear up on their own, but persistent or worsening rashes need medical attention.
Vomiting or nausea are common side effects. These usually subside, but persistent vomiting should be reported to your doctor.
Yeast infections (thrush) can occur, particularly in the mouth or genital area. Contact your doctor if you notice white patches or irritation.
